Privacy Policy

Chapter II Coffee ("we", "us", "our") operates the Chapter II Coffee iOS app. This policy describes what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this short because the app keeps things short.
Information we collect
When you create an account, place an order, or contact us for help, we collect only what we need to serve you:
- Contact information — your name, email address, and phone number, used to identify your orders and send order updates.
- Account identifier — an internal user ID generated when your account is created, used to link your profile to your orders.
- Payment information — card details are tokenized and stored securely by our payment processor (Clover). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Order history — the orders you place, so you can view them in the app and re-order.
- Customer support messages — emails you send to our support address, along with any information you choose to include, retained so we can respond and improve the app.
- Push notification tokens — if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send order-ready alerts.
Data we do not collect
- No precise or coarse location data.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app / cross-site tracking.
- No third-party analytics or behavioral advertising SDKs.
- No crash-reporting SDK that collects personal data.
How we use your information
- To process and fulfill your orders.
- To notify you when your order is ready for pickup.
- To save your payment method for faster future checkouts — only when you choose to save a card.
- To display your order history within the app.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Third-party services
- Clover — payment processing and point-of-sale integration. Your name, email, phone, order contents, and tokenized payment details are shared with Clover to complete transactions.
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, secure data storage, and push notification delivery for the app.
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In — optional authentication. If you choose one, we receive the name and email associated with your Apple or Google account.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers order-ready notifications to your device when you have notifications enabled.
Your choices
The app gives you two separate controls:
- Clear order history — removes past orders from your view in the app. Your account remains active.
- Delete account — permanently removes your profile, saved payment methods, and push notification registrations. Order records that must be kept for tax, accounting, or legal reasons are anonymized.
These are distinct actions in the app and in our systems. Clearing history does not delete your account, and deleting your account does more than clear history.
Data retention
We retain your account and order data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, identifying data is removed. Anonymized order records may be kept for tax, accounting, and accounting-integrity purposes.
Security
All network traffic uses HTTPS. Authentication is managed through Firebase using industry-standard token verification. Payment card details are handled by Clover and are never stored on our servers.
Children
The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
